My areas of speciality include issues in areas such as trauma, addiction, compulsive behaviors, and relational difficulties for individuals and families. Your therapy utilizes expertise from evidence based practices including Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Psychodynamic Therapy; with a holistic approach encompassing the somatic connection between mind and body.

For those seeking to change, transformative change often involves creation of new ways to navigate life. We are both the marble and sculptor in our lives to create change. As a therapist, you are the best expert in your own life and your capability to be the gatekeeper in the relationship; you choose how much or how little to share and when to share, and my goal will be to meet you wherever you are in the therapeutic process towards internal peace.

Connect with me through Psychology Today for a free 30-minute phone consultation, allowing us to explore if we are a good therapeutic match. Currently serving those residing in California via HIPAA-Compliant telehealth services.

Therapy is a collaboration. You are the authority on your own experience and your own goals, and I respect that fact more than an average therapist. I want to know what you want to work on, and help you specifically with that. It takes courage to set on a path of healing and growth; I honor this by offering space to move towards your chosen goals at your own pace.

You are a unique person, and so I do my best to individualize treatment to your values and intentions over preconceived ideas of what “healthy” means.

In addition to my qualifications as a therapist, I have a background in art and performance, and I love to work with artists, writers, animators, editors, directors, and actors to support their creative goals.

I also have years of experience in Somatic Therapy, which addresses the physical symptoms of emotions. Many people experience behaviors or compulsions—usually based on past traumas—that negatively impact their daily lives. Somatic Therapy is a form of healing this trauma in the body. It is especially helpful in decreasing compulsive behaviors, including addiction, and cultivating a sense of safety in one’s body.

Starting therapy can feel like a lot. My goal is to create a space where you feel safe and seen while we work through what isn’t working. My style is collaborative, and grounded in curiosity. I work from the belief that lasting change happens through understanding, flexibility, and self-trust. My approach is relational and integrative, drawing primarily from attachment-based, narrative, and compassion-focused therapies. I pay close attention to how patterns developed, what they protect, how they show up in the present, and how the nervous system has adapted over time—and how this shapes the way you relate to yourself and others.

Rather than pathologizing behavior, we work together to understand its function and explore new ways of relating to yourself and others that feel more authentic. I aim to create a grounded, honest, and respectful space where complexity is welcomed, nothing needs to be minimized or rushed, and where we can move toward what feels meaningful and values-driven.

I have extensive experience working in higher levels of care, including with individuals navigating eating disorders, trauma, anxiety, and rigid self-criticism. We can begin exactly where you are and build from there. If you are looking for a grounded, direct therapist deeply attuned to emotional and relational patterns, I’d be honored to work with you

Hi, I’m Emily, I believe therapy can be a space for growth, healing, and deeper self-understanding. Reaching out for support is not always easy, and taking this first step toward change deserves recognition.

You may be navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, life transitions, stress, self-esteem concerns, or emotional patterns that no longer feel manageable. Maybe you know exactly what is causing distress, or maybe you simply know that something is not working and want support understanding why. My goal is to help clients develop greater clarity, self-awareness, and connection to themselves in a supportive and nonjudgmental environment.

Drawing from both lived experience and professional training, I strive to provide compassionate, collaborative, and individualized care tailored to each client’s unique needs and experiences. In addition to my clinical work, I have both personal lived experience and educational and workplace training supporting individuals with special needs and the families who care for them. While I do not work directly with children, I have a particular passion for supporting adults, caregivers, and families navigating the emotional complexities, stressors, and unique dynamics that can arise within homes impacted by special circumstances and neurodivergence. This has become an important niche within my work and informs the empathy and understanding I bring into the therapeutic space.

My therapeutic approach integrates aspects of Internal Family Systems (IFS), psychodynamic therapy, and somatic practices. Together, we can explore emotional patterns, deepen understanding of your inner world, strengthen the mind-body connection, and develop healthier ways of coping with life’s challenges. I believe meaningful change happens through curiosity, insight, and the willingness to engage in the therapeutic process.

If you are seeking greater healing, self-understanding, and emotional resilience, I invite you to reach out by email to schedule a consultation and see if we may be a good fit.
